Frequently asked questions
Quick answers for talent, agents, and agencies. New to Unlisted? Start with the how-it-works guide.
Getting started
What is Unlisted?+
Unlisted is a UK casting platform connecting performers, talent agents, and casting directors. Talent build profiles and submit to roles, agents submit the performers they represent, and casting directors post breakdowns and run the whole audition process in one place.
Which type of account should I choose?+
Choose Talent if you’re a performer, Agent if you represent performers and submit them on their behalf, or Agency if you’re a casting director posting roles and reviewing submissions. You pick your path when you join.
Is it free to start?+
Yes. Every account starts on the free Starter plan with core tools. Paid plans unlock unlimited use and extra features — see Pricing.
How do I sign in?+
Use your email and password, or continue with Google, Apple, or Facebook if social sign-in is enabled for the site.
For talent
How do I submit for a role?+
Open a role from Jobs, add a short cover note, optionally attach a self-tape (MP4, MOV, or WEBM), and submit before the deadline.
What are pencil holds and callbacks?+
A pencil hold is a tentative booking hold (1st or 2nd pencil) casting places on you for certain dates. A callback is a follow-up audition with a time and place. You’ll be notified for both — confirm your availability from My auditions so casting can firm things up.
What does a self-tape request mean?+
Casting can ask you to record a specific self-tape with a brief and a due date. You’ll see it on My auditions and on the role; record to the brief and upload it there.
What are the submission limits?+
The free Starter plan includes a set number of auditions and message threads, plus full directory search filters. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited submissions and messaging, and Studio for masterclasses on top.
For agents
How do I add performers to my roster?+
In My roster, invite a performer by the email on their Unlisted talent account. They receive a request and confirm it — only then do they appear on your active roster.
How do I submit a client to a role?+
Open an open call and use Submit a client to put an active-roster performer forward with a short pitch. Casting sees the submission came from you as their agent.
Does the performer have to agree to being represented?+
Yes. Representation is always consented — a performer must accept your request before you can submit on their behalf, and they can decline at any time.
For agencies
How do I post a role?+
From your desk, choose New posting and fill in the breakdown — role, project, fee, dates, and requirements. You can add reference photos or a video to set the tone.
What is the submissions deck?+
The deck is a filterable board of every submission for a role, shown as cards with headshots, status, holds, self-tapes, and inline controls. Filter by status, shortlisted, on hold, callbacks, self-tape, or confirmed availability.
Can I tell who submitted a performer?+
Yes. Each submission is labelled as Self-submitted or “via <agent> (agent)”, so you always know whether it came directly from the performer or their representation.
How do I request a self-tape or schedule a callback?+
On any submission, use the controls to request a self-tape (with a brief and due date), place a pencil hold, or schedule a callback with time, location, and notes. The performer is notified to respond.
Plans, media & privacy
What do the plans include?+
Talent plans (Starter, Pro, Studio) scale up auditions, messaging, and masterclasses — directory filters are free on every plan. The Agency plan unlocks unlimited outreach and priority placement for your open calls. See Pricing for the full breakdown. Launch promo UNLISTED99 is 99p for 3 months on any profile type.
How is my media stored?+
Headshots, showreels, and self-tapes are stored against your account within a 1 GB allowance. You can remove uploads at any time from your dashboard.
How do I get in touch?+
Use in-app messaging to reach casting, talent, or agents you’re working with. For anything else, start from the Guide or reach out via your dashboard.
